US Open 2013 Final

With not much of a surprise, Serena Williams has clinched the US Open title after winning Victoria Azarenka 7-5, 6-7, 6-1. However it was not as easy as it seems this time for Serena Williams as Victoria Azarenka put up a good match and won the second set of the game. Serena Williams came back at the third set and quickly took the set and won the Open. With this new title to her bag, it is actually her 17th grand slam titles. Now she has the same number of titles with Roger Federer. Serena Williams is expecting to be appearing in the upcoming tournaments such as the China Open.

US Open 2013 semi finals

At the semi finals of the US Open 2013, Victoria Azarenka and Flavia Penneta played a great game. Both were returning and serving hard across the courts. Victoria Azarenka a powerful backhand winner won the game 6-4, 6-2. For Flavia Penneta being ranked 83rd in the World going to the semi finals is a great spot for her at this tournament. Serena Williams in her semi-finals won Li Na 6-0, 6-3. Serena Williams cruises the game but Li Na put up a good 2nd set to score some points. Still Serena Williams won and advances. Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams will be meeting at the finals once more like last year's US Open. This time Victoria Azarenka is set to clinch the title whereas Serena Williams is as usual going out to bag another one. She is after all a four times champion and the US Open always seem to be one of her favourite tournaments.

US Open 2013 quarter finals

At the quarter finals of the US Open, Victoria Azarenka won Daniela Hantuchova 6-3, 6-2. Flavia Penneta played with fellow Italian player Vinci and won 6-4, 6-1. Li Na won Makarova 6-4, 6-7, 6-2. Li Na came back at the third set to score and win the quarter-finals match. It was the only game where it went up to three sets. She became the first US Open semi-finalist and her next match could be Serena Williams. Serena Williams in her quarter finals was one of the best score match as she won 6-0, 6-0. She basically cruises through the match to book the spot at the semi-finals match.

US Open 2013 moving into quarter finals

The US Open has come to the third and fourth rounds of the game and we have seen some who have confirmed their placings in the quarter finals. The early bookers includes Serene Williams the current World Number One and the frequent US Open champion. She won fellow US player Sloane Stephens to book the place. There are some interesting matches at this tournament and one of the players who played well is Ana Ivanovic. She will playing with Victoria Azarenka for the quarter finals place. Flavia Penneta is also playing really well at this tournament. Simona Halep who won Caroline Wozniacki played with Flavia Penneta and Flavia Penneta won 6-2, 7-2. Daniela Hantuchova also continues to advance to the next round. Moving now to the quarter finals, we can now see more skilled moves by the players as they pit against each other to move to the semi-finals.

The US Open one of the grand slams is here again. The tournament this year will see no appearances of Maria Sharapova in the matches due to her pulling out of this tournament. We will see Simona Halep who has been getting some attraction from her great games played recently. World Number One Serena Williams is still in the game too. Maria Kirilenko and Daniela Hantuchova are also playing with them winning the first two rounds moving to the third round. Sloane Stephens the US player has won the third round.
