BNP Paribas Open 2014





BNP Paribas Open begins and many top players will be here to play for the title. Some of them includes Caroline Wozniacki, Agnieszka Radwanska and Maria Sharapova. BNP Paribas Open is a premier event and is also classified as the ATP Tour Masters 1000. What this means is also that a 1000 points will be distributed to the winners.

The best shot by Fans is indeed one that is utmost interesting. Looking at how the shot was deliberately done by Agnieszka Radwanska was a smart shot that requires some skills. Notice that she did a feign and later on did a clear return. Indeed this is a well-deserved favourite shot of the year by the fans.

OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open



Interestingly this blog always talk about the major tennis tournaments such as grand slams and in this post it will be talking a tennis event at Chinese Taipei,Taiwan. This tournament is called OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open. Professional tennis players actually played on indoor carpet courts. The prize money of this tournament is about US$100,000. In Chinese Taipei perhaps the more acclaimed professional tennis players will be the sisters' team by Yung-Jan and Hao-Ching. They are also called as the Chinese Taipei own Chan's sisters. They had also won the doubles titles at WTA.

Eugenie Bouchard a player to watch at the Japan Open

Eugenie Bouchard is one of the up and coming tennis stars. She is the No. 1 teen in the tennis arena and she could be winning her first WTA title at the Japan Open. Her final will be facing a strong opponent which is Samantha Stosur. Eugenie is a Canadian professional tennis player and she is one of those who might be interesting to watch. She had played with some good players such as Jelena Javanovic and won. From her performance at the Japan Open thus far it looks like she is showing good tennis moves. This final would be an interesting game to see how Eugenie is going to play her style with Samantha.

US Open 2013 Final

With not much of a surprise, Serena Williams has clinched the US Open title after winning Victoria Azarenka 7-5, 6-7, 6-1. However it was not as easy as it seems this time for Serena Williams as Victoria Azarenka put up a good match and won the second set of the game. Serena Williams came back at the third set and quickly took the set and won the Open. With this new title to her bag, it is actually her 17th grand slam titles. Now she has the same number of titles with Roger Federer. Serena Williams is expecting to be appearing in the upcoming tournaments such as the China Open.

US Open 2013 semi finals




At the semi finals of the US Open 2013, Victoria Azarenka and Flavia Penneta played a great game. Both were returning and serving hard across the courts. Victoria Azarenka a powerful backhand winner won the game 6-4, 6-2. For Flavia Penneta being ranked 83rd in the World going to the semi finals is a great spot for her at this tournament. Serena Williams in her semi-finals won Li Na 6-0, 6-3. Serena Williams cruises the game but Li Na put up a good 2nd set to score some points. Still Serena Williams won and advances. Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams will be meeting at the finals once more like last year's US Open. This time Victoria Azarenka is set to clinch the title whereas Serena Williams is as usual going out to bag another one. She is after all a four times champion and the US Open always seem to be one of her favourite tournaments.

US Open 2013 quarter finals

At the quarter finals of the US Open, Victoria Azarenka won Daniela Hantuchova 6-3, 6-2. Flavia Penneta played with fellow Italian player Vinci and won 6-4, 6-1. Li Na won Makarova 6-4, 6-7, 6-2. Li Na came back at the third set to score and win the quarter-finals match. It was the only game where it went up to three sets. She became the first US Open semi-finalist and her next match could be Serena Williams. Serena Williams in her quarter finals was one of the best score match as she won 6-0, 6-0. She basically cruises through the match to book the spot at the semi-finals match.

US Open 2013 moving into quarter finals




The US Open has come to the third and fourth rounds of the game and we have seen some who have confirmed their placings in the quarter finals. The early bookers includes Serene Williams the current World Number One and the frequent US Open champion. She won fellow US player Sloane Stephens to book the place. There are some interesting matches at this tournament and one of the players who played well is Ana Ivanovic. She will playing with Victoria Azarenka for the quarter finals place. Flavia Penneta is also playing really well at this tournament. Simona Halep who won Caroline Wozniacki played with Flavia Penneta and Flavia Penneta won 6-2, 7-2. Daniela Hantuchova also continues to advance to the next round. Moving now to the quarter finals, we can now see more skilled moves by the players as they pit against each other to move to the semi-finals.

US Open 2013



 

The US Open one of the grand slams is here again. The tournament this year will see no appearances of Maria Sharapova in the matches due to her pulling out of this tournament. We will see Simona Halep who has been getting some attraction from her great games played recently. World Number One Serena Williams is still in the game too. Maria Kirilenko and Daniela Hantuchova are also playing with them winning the first two rounds moving to the third round. Sloane Stephens the US player has won the third round. Victoria Azarenka is also advancing to the next round. More updates will be posted from this prestige tournament. By the way discover a really nice pair of shoes worn by Maria Kirilenko. That really brightens one's players' outfit and look. Cool stuff.

Simona Halep surprise crowd to win at the final of the New Haven Open


Simona Halep has really surprise the crowd by winning the defending champion Petra Kvitova 6-2, 6-2. She also wins it in style. In the last few sets of the match, she returned beautifully and did a serve that was pretty fast which Petra Kvitova did not move or attempt to catch it. After that shot, she won the match and the game. She is the new champion of the New Haven Open. This is also another title to her bag in just two months.

At the semi-finals Simona Halep had performed really well in the match with Caroline Wozniacki. Simona Halep won 6-2, 7-5 to advance to the final. She has won 28 matches out of the 33 in her current tournaments. Now she will be facing with Petra Kvitova who is the defending champion. Petra Kvitova  6-0 6-1 in her semi-finals with Klara Zakopalova in 50 minutes. She said that she knew that Simona Halep is a good mover. Of course the defending champion should have what it takes to complete the match in her own style.

Caroline Wozniacki and Sloane Stephens at New Haven Open



At the quarter finals, Caroline wozniacki had a good game with Sloane Stephens for the semi-finals placing. Sloane Stephens is one of the rising stars in tennis and she definitely has great potential. In this tournament she has shown some good moves to be at the quarter finals. Caroline Wozniack being former World No. 1 definitely has the experience. In the match, the rising U.S. star, stayed with Wozniacki early and was serving for the set after breaking the Danish star in the ninth game. But Caroline Wozniacki broke back to tie the set 5-5 and never trailed in the tiebreaker, winning 8-6 .Caroline Wozniacki broke Sloane Stephens in the third game of the second set and put the match away with another break to go up 5-2. Caroline wozniacki won the game 7-6 (6), 6-2. Caroline Wozniacki will be playing with Simona Halep at the semi-finals.

Rogers Cup 2013 - Serena Williams clinches third Rogers Cup title


At the final of the Rogers Cup 2013, Serena Williams met Sorana Cirstea and it was a pretty quick game. Serena Williams took down two sets and won the game 6-2, 6-0. She still maintains her No. 1 title. For Sorana Cirstea, it as definitely an interesting tournament for her. After all she had played with the top finest players. She won all of them except the the one at the final. Though she has lost the game but it was to the current World No. 1 who has really been on her form these days.

Rogers Cup 2013 with confirmation of the semi-finals players




At the Rogers Cup 2013, top players went out of the games. One of the matches especially with Sorana Cirstea winning Petrova Kvitova. The score was 6-4, 5-7, 2-6. Li Na won Ana Ivanovic to advance. Serena Williams continue to cruise the games. The players who booked the places in the semi-finals are Sorana Cirstea, Agnieszka Radwanska, Serena Williams and Li Na. Sorana Cirstea is the most notable one in a way such that she being ranked No. 28 in the World actually won former World No. Ones in her matches. Her semi-final will be another interesting match to watch. Daniela Hantuchova and Martina Hingis the power doubles did not advance to the the next round but still the spectators like them as always.

Rogers Cup 2013



At the Rogers Cup 2013, we see the styles and glamour of some of the most prominent players today such as the Samantha Stosur who by the way won top seeded Victoria Azarenka to clinch the South California title. Serena Williams the current World Number One is also in good shape to continue to cruise this tournament. Ana Ivanovic is another player to talk about as she has been able to move to the third round and will be facing Li Na from China. It is going to be an interesting match between these two.

Besides the single matches, the return of Martina Hingis has created a new interest among tennis fans for after all she has been one of the great tennis players. Notably she is one the players who has entered into the hall of fame. A highly pretigious honour for any tennis players. She will be returning as a Doubles player with Daniela Hantuchova. They have made it into the second round and we will continue to update with their performances.

Martina Hingis may be a familiar name before Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova as they are always being in the limelight these days as the top tennis players. She was actually the former World Number One with five grand slams singles title to her bag. Martina Hingis was also elected into the tennis hall of fame for her great tennis skills. The interesting thing is that she has came back recently to play at the games. Her new doubles mate will be Daniela Hantuchova who is an accomplished doubles player who had completed the career grand slam in mixed doubles. They are going to be an interesting pair to watch at the coming tournaments. Martina Hingis has definitely much to look out for given her past records and play style.

Marion Bartoli is new Wimbledon champion 2013

In about 30 minutes the player who knocks off Serena Williams in the fourth round took down the first set at the final. At the second set Marion Bartoli continue to keep firm and went on to score. The French eventually won 6-1, 6-4 and clinch the title. The first Wimbledon title for her and it has been some time since a new player has emerged as winner for this prestigious title. She is top 15 in the World and not even in top 10. Sabine Lisicki was the runner up for this prestigious game. Both had played really well in this game winning the top players to reach to the final. Excellent game for both players.

Advancing to the final of the Wimbledon 2013



At the Wimbledon this year you will see two happy tennis athletes at the final as this for them is their first final at the prestigious Wimbledon 2013. This year we are not seeing the usual great tennis stars and stars such as Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams went out in the earlier games. At the semi final we saw Agnieszka Radwanska and Sabine Lisicki. It was a pretty long game at the third round with one set to each athlete and Sabine Lisicki won 4-6, 6-2, 7-9. Marion Bartoli won Kirsten Flipkens 6-1, 6-2 and advance to the final. These two will be the new faces playing at this year's prestigious grand slam final.

Maria Sharapova and Serena Willaims at the French Open 2013 Final










Both Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams are great players and they played a great game at the French Open final. Serena Williams won Maria Sharapova the defending champion 6-4, 6-4. Serena Williams is not new to this title. She had won it before and it is the second French Open grand slam title in her bag. After the match Serena Williams threw her tennis racket and was really happy to receive her title as the French Open Champion again. Maria Sharapova though did not win the title this time but a trophy to her title is still a good start to her tournaments. This is after all a grand slam.
