At the final she met the player Caroline Woznacki who stopped the run of the new phenomenon Melanie Oudin. Caroline was happy to be at the final as it was her first ever grand slam final.

During the final, Kim Clijsters has it all displaying the traits of a champion and not only that but also as a world no. 1. Her serves and returns gave Caroline a taste of Mother power and world no. 1 skills. Kim Clijsters won. She won it with real solid skills.
