The tennis drop shot technique add on

There are other matters to take note when doing a drop shot after the forward swing and contact. The following will describe the follow through things to note:

1. Keep the follow through of drop shot has to be short, finishing at approximately waist level.

2. Another important thing is to ensure that you keep your head still and maintain the balance. On completion of the shot, follow the ball to the net so that you can reduce the angle of your opponent's return.

3. Usually, your opponent may also return with a drop shot so be in a flexible position to counter that.

It is important to get a feel for how much force to apply with the racket and for how to absorb the pace of the oncoming ball so that you can use a drop shot. Therefore sometimes it is useful to actually work on your drop shot early in the development of the game because it will develop your feel for the ball and how to control it. You will also become more aware of the touch and timing of the shots.

Maria will be playing against the winner of the match between second seed Venus Williams and Russia's Alla Kudryavtseva in the next match. It seems that Maria has already recovered pretty much from her injury and she seems to be all ready to continue to march on to the finals.

The tennis drop shot technique

The key to a successful drop shot is to relax the muscle tension in your forearm and hand at the point of contact. Here are some of the important things to note when doing a drop shot:

The grip

Continental grip for the drop shot is easier to use but if you can continue to play your normal forehand or backhand, you can actually surprise the opponent.

Preparation and backswing

Try and prepare as you would for your normal forehand and backhand so that you can disguise the shot. Use the same stance as when you use for forehand and backhand. Play the shot from inside the court so the ball has less far to travel as this will give your opponent less time to get the ball.

Forward swing and contact

Use a similar forward swing as for forehand and backhand. Need a downward swing but reduce the speed of the racket head so you can control the ball. Keep wrist loose and bring racket face underneath the ball, putting spin on it. Contact the ball just before or when it reaches the highest point of its bounce.

Now it is their daughters' future they are looking forward to.

If anyone knows more about the world no. 1's manager, you will perhaps know that she is Roger Federer's wife. Today marks an important day for the tennis great and his wife Mirka as she has gave birth to twin daughters earlier on.

Ever since Roger Federer has officially declared about the good news of being a father, he has played really well at the games and has claimed back his world no. 1 title. As he has mentioned today is the happiest day of his and his wife's lives, it seems that Roger Federer is really happy and excited to be a father and tennis fans around should really feel happy for him too and maybe this excitement can even bring him to a higher level of tennis even though he is already the world no.1 and one of the greatest tennis players around.

Andy Roddick pulling out from the Indy Championships

Andy Roddick has pulled out from the Indy Championships due to a hip injury from the previous Wimbledon. The runner-up of the wimbledon and two times champion of the Indy Championships was a favourite among the fans and many have seems to bought the tickets to watch him play. Some may feel disappointed not bening able to watch Andy Roddick play at the game but there are probably others to watch and maybe there could be some excitements that will never be known until the last minute. So for those who have bought the tickets, enjoy still!

Richard Gasquet's latest tennis case

Richard Gasquet hit the headlines not because of anything in the latest tennis tour championship however it is related to his tennis career as he was initially charged. Now they said he was cleared because he ingested the drug by kissing a girl.

This probably may seems to be one of the most interesting tennis news in this game and a lesson to be learn from this is that kissing with anyone else without much thought could jolly well land you in trouble!

Well yes the world no. 9 may be considered dashing by some but still those who wants to kiss him may just give him some something not good which he did not expect. The best is still to not just kiss or do things casually with someone you barely know.

Tennis drop shot technique introduction

There is another important technique quite efficiently used to mislead the opponent and to make them run. This shot is called as the drop shot. It is also referred to as a "touch" shot, because it requires soft hands and careful control of the ball.

Tactically, as mentioned earlier this shot is to make the opponent run thus this shot is used to force your opponent to come forward to the net. It is especially effective on clay or other slow courts but on grass, it can be used to.

The drop shot is most effective when you have pushed your opponent well behind the baseline, and played off a slightly shorter ball. But usually top players with real good control of this technique can play from further back of the court. This technique can be a surprise and usually it will scores a point if it is surprising rather than the placement of the ball.

Sports and Business

I pondered upon a business subject on a business web directory that deals with sports and business, which pulls me away from the playing fields to the management who are at the front line of sports business. The gratifying thing about this is the break of monotony from the focus of the game itself to promoting and prolonging the life of sports business which brings in revenue that sustains the sports people. Another search on the same topic on free web directory yields the same feeling and the drive to enter into lucrative sports business overwhelms me with even more eagerness to be in the front line to spend my time in the business aspect of sports. To confirm my feelings further, I got onto the last search at web directory

In the end, all the searches still voice down to the attractiveness of sports business which I am full of hope for. By the way, through all the information I gather, I feel I am geared to be in that line for a wiser cereer path. So glad that I am bestowed the gift to love sports and business to appreciate the kind of information displayed on all the direct path.

Business sustains the lives of sports and to achieve that is a remarkable feat. Management is indeed my strength and to labor in the mark -ket place is very competitive. Yet undaunted is the way to spur my dreams as I continue to count. Service over, now is the time to go and reflect on what I can do about making my career a huge bang.

The golden moment for the greatest tennis champion (EPA)

Roger Federer has been crowned as the Wimbledon champion this year and he deserved this title with great style and determination. I wondered whether some may have the same feelings as I do when watching his match especially the last three minutes where he really showed the spirit of a tennis great by going all out with his best to win. It was quite touching and sensational i must say. Roger Federer not only has he won another wimbledon title, he has actually claimed back his world no. 1 title. It was a great game played, the longest final with the most exciting shortest finale that made this year's Wimbledon a truly remarkable one.

Will Roger Federer be crowned as Champion again?

Now all eyes are set on Roger and Andy Roddick for the final match of wimbledon. Venus was defeated and she did not managed to win another wimbledon title but probably she will not feel that heart ache since it is her sister who won it. Many seems to be saying that Roddick will play a better game and win the wimbledon but there are also some who are always supportive of the comeback hero Roger. Roger has been playing really well and the final match will be one that many expect it to be a truly exciting one.

Venus Williams won the current world no.1 Dinara in 51 min to make it to the finals where she meet her sister which is not the first time and after all both of them are really good at the games. Her sister on the hand took a much longer time to win over Elena at the semi and the time taken is actually the longest game time in the wimbledon history.

Over at the guys match, Roger Federer has made it to the finals but British Andy Murray will not be the one meeting him as he has lost to the other Andy, Andy Roddick.

Over at the women finals it is a sister thing and at the guys, it is an continuation of the comeback champion playing against the player who broke the hearts of the crowd.
