The forehand is the next thing that is the most fundamental in tennis. It is the most basic and most used shot in tennis once get it right you are able to hit with consistency and power. Start from the ready position and just your opponent initiates his or her forward swing do a split step. As you push off, prepare to hit the ball by rotating your shoulders away from the ball. I remembered that we used to pick a lot of balls while practicing this in the start than trying to hit the balls. This technique is the basic but requires effort and time in order to play tennis.

The ready position

The ready position is vital for getting your body set up to return serve, playground strokes and execute volleys. Yes not only soccer have volleys tennis too have. It allows you to react quickly to your opponent's shots, allowing you to push off the ball quickly. One thing for sure it is important that you have to keep your eyes on the opponent and the ball. But I know that is quite difficult at the start because of concentrating on the basics like the ready position and to smack the ball.

The forehand grip continues...

There are actually four types forehand grips: continental, eastern forehand, semi-western forehand and western forehand. To find a certain grip, use the base of your index finger as the main reference point. Your thumb should and index finger should form a v shape. Your grip should be fine. On contact with the ball, your grip should be tightened. Different grips actually gives different effect such as continental grip the ball is too flat and the shot will be close to the net which is risky. The western forehand grip creates too much top spin which takes off the ball's speed. To which grip to use by the way, Roger Federer uses the semi-western, while Rafael Nadal uses the western. Ultimately, use the grip that is most comfortable.

Tennis basics

Grip is the foundation of all tennis strokes. Where you position your hand on the eight-handed handle affects the angle of the racket face, which is the contact point of the ball. Now you have an rough idea why it can quite boring at the start because it is like so complicated. Just hit the ball ha! But to really enjoy the game it is a process that the basics must be included. Once some practicing is done, there will be a sense of satisfaction.

Tennis to me...

Tennis to me is a game that I wasn't really a talent to start with. I have started to get contact the sport during school days as part of physical education program and... I was totally ain't good with it. Still remember the first thing about it is to swing the racket we just keep swinging to get that hang of it and started to hit some balls. This part is really tiring and boring as most of weren't that good most of the time we were picking the balls after it flew away.
